“Steganography” is a Greek origin word which means “hidden writing”. Steganography word is classified into two parts: Steganos which means “secret or covered” (where you want to hide the secret messages) and the graphic which means “writing” (text). Steganography is the art or science of concealing the existence of data within an ordinary and inconspicuous medium or host, steganalysis is the art of detecting the hidden messages embedded in digital media using- Steganography, The LSB (Least Significant Bit) of a file is the last bit (technically speaking, it is the first) in an 8-bit byte, which modifies the value of the byte by only 1 if changed. ITiis paper focuses on the techniques of Least Significant Bit (LSB), Embedding using digital images as a medium. The terminology is that a message is hidden within a cover image to produce a stego-image. In this paper, a new method is presented, implemented and analyzed.

Steganography is a form of security technique through obscurity, the science and art of hiding the existence of a message between sender and intended recipient. The techniques used in Steganography make it difficult to detect that there is a hidden message inside an Image file. The identity information is encrypted by using the LSB technique on BMP images. Original and stego-images after the embedding process are compared to each other and the robustness of the application against steganalysis attacks is measured using SHADE tool. Various image Steganography techniques have been proposed. In this study, the aim and application areas of Steganography and steganalysis are briefly described. Kinds of techniques used in Steganography are analyzed and compared to each other according to their simplicity and robustness. Different applications have different requirements of the Steganography technique used. This paper intends to give an overview of image Steganography, its uses and techniques.
